Abstrak
This study aimed to determaining the effect of giving rations containing peel of dragon fruit fermnented with yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiaetoward carcass weight and internal organ of 10 weeks local chicken. The study was conducted for 2 months at the research station of Husbandry Faculty Udayana University, Jimbaran Badung, Bali. Chickens used in this study were two weeks old ones which were buying from the Jatinom farm local chicken company, Banyuwangi, East Java. This study used a complete randomised design method (RAL) with 4 RKBN (dragon fruit peel rations) treatment and 5 replications, each replication consisted of 5 chickens. The rations used was RKBN0 it was ration containing no dragon fruit peel, RKBN1 was rations containing 5% dragon fruit peel , RKBN2 was rations containing 7% dragon fruit peel, and RKBN3 was rations containing 9% of dragon fruit peel. The variables observed in this study included the carcass weight of 10 weeks old chickens, and the weight of internal organs, namely: liver, heart, bile and spleen. The result showed that giving RKBN2 and RKBN3 were significantly different (P<0,005) local local chicken carcass weight each are 9.90% and 10.45% compared with RKBN0 treatments with 351.00 g carcass weight, but non-significantlly different (P>0.05) with RKBN1 treatments. While toward internal organs variable were liver, hearth, bile, and spleen, giving rations containg peel of dragon fruit fermented with yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiaeshowed non-significantlly different result (P>0.05). Based on the results of this study it can beconcluded that giving fermented dragon fruit flour with yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae on rations of 7 to 9% significantly increased the carcass weight of ten weeks old local chicken
